July 21, 2017 – The MD PnP Lab has moved!

After 11 years in our original location at 65 Landsdowne St. Cambridge, MA, USA, the original  MD PnP lab has been relocated to a larger custom-built space on the 5th floor of the same PartnersHealthcare building.

We were reminded of many wonderful projects while packing for the big move. Posters and demonstrations from our 2006 project on x-ray-ventilator  synchronization, the Smart America Closed-Loop Healthcare project “from Home to Hospital to Home”, the Global Cities Teams Challenge on interoperable medical-technology for Ebola care, and medical devices and Beagle Bones for OpenICE, reminded us of numerous rewarding collaborations.

The new lab is a beautiful, modern pre-clinical medical device and networking technology research lab and testbed. It is actually 4 labs integrated in one suite:

  • Medical device interoperability lab
  • Healthcare Cybersecurity lab
  • Medical device-to-EHR integration implementation lab
  • Electronic lab

All labs are networked through advanced, highly configurable, “virtual LAN” (VLAN) networking technology that permits networked equipment to be interconnected or completely isolated, and enables monitoring of all network communications.

Thanks to the extensive planning and hard work of our team, core systems were up and running by 5pm on move day.

We hope you will share our excitement when you visit our new lab during an upcoming open house.

Regards,

Julian Goldman
