20th Anniversary

Thank you for attending the 2024 Symposium on Smart and Autonomous Medical Systems (SaAMS)

Celebrating our new Center for SaAMS

20 years ago, the Massachusetts General Hospital embarked on developing a new vision and technologies to ensure patient safety and improve health outcomes with the establishment of the MD PnP Program.

Building on this foundation, the Center for Smart and Autonomous Medical Systems at Mass General is leading the path forward to leverage connected medical devices, apps, and platforms to safely and efficiently deliver transformative patient-care solutions.

On June 6th, 2024, the Center for SaAMS convened clinicians, researchers, engineers, regulatory experts, industry partners, and other thought leaders in an inaugural Symposium to realize the potential of these important technologies. See the agenda below for details.

The Symposium was livestreamed. See links to the presentations on the agenda below.

See Speakers Bios and download the agenda.

Some of the topics covered:

  • Technology-associated challenges providers are facing in delivering safe and efficient care
  • Military and civilian perspectives on clinical outcomes enabled by technology
  • Innovation enablement and translation: leadership perspectives from federal agencies, academic and industry leaders
  • Utilizing standards, systems, regulatory science and evolving SaAMS technologies towards patient safety, cybersecurity and medical device interoperability
  • Leveraging the new SaAMS Collaborative Community to advance the maturity, adoption and clinical use of SaAMS to improve patient care through developing pre-competitive shared risk-management information.
